Union’s Thomas remains hot

Union High’s Anthony Thomas is dominating the county boys basketball statistics.
Thomas, a 6-foot-1 senior guard, owns a county-high 28.5 scoring average to lead the boys list. He has registered 314 points in 11 games.
The Scotties are 10-1 overall behind Thomas’ solid play. He has games of 46 and 47 points as well, with his lowest output being 17.
Thomas also leads the county in 3-pointers with 35 and free-throw percentage at 77.2 (51 of 66). The minimum attempts to qualify for recognition is 34.
Mohawk’s Jake Grim is battling Thomas for the scoring average title. Grim, a 6-1 senior guard, is averaging 24.3 markers a contest for the Warriors (4-9).
Grim ranks sixth in free-throw percentage at 69 percent (78 of 113) and is eighth in 3-pointers (15).
Neshannock’s Bobby Nittinger climbed to third in scoring average at 18.9 markers a contest. Nittinger, a 6-4 senior guard, is tied for second in 3-pointers with New Castle’s Marquale May.
