Mercer (41) Vs. Union (37)
Dec 10, 2012
Foul shooting proved costly for Union in a loss to Mercer in the Lady Warrior Shootout.

The Lady Scots (1-1) were just 4 of 12 from the stripe against the Lady M’s. Mercer built a 29-17 halftime bulge and held on.

Marissa Heaney paced Union with 13 markers and was named to the all-tournament team. Her sister Miranda Heaney collected 11. Allison Bertolino and Marissa Heaney pulled down 11 rebounds each for the Lady Scots.

“We struggled with our foul shooting,” Union coach Brian Fadden said. “We struggled with our overall shooting the whole game. The ball didn’t bounce our way, but we worked hard the whole game.

“We definitely have some positives to take from the opening weekend. We rebounded well both games.”

Lexie Arkwright tossed in 16 to lead all scorers for Mercer (1-1).
