Free-throw shooting costs 'Canes

Free throws late in the game cost New Castle a win over Sharon.

Sharon (5-0) took a two-point lead with about 35 seconds remaining in the game. The Red Hurricane (5-3) then missed the front end of a 1-and-1, and while Sharon followed by missing a free throw, the Tigers got the rebound and scored. New Castle again missed a free throw, and Sharon made both. Corey Eggleston hit a 3-pointer with three seconds left to end the scoring.

Anthony Richards hit five 3-pointers for a game-high 15 points for the ’Canes. Shawn Anderson registered 14 points, while Brandon Domenick and Eggleston each added 10. Four players scored in double figures for the Tigers.
