Union hangs tough, but falls to Sewickley
Sewickley (63) Vs. Union (47)
Feb 02, 2010
The Lady Scots played tough against Sewickley Academy in a Section 1-A defeat.
“We were very competitive tonight,” Union coach Brian Fadden said. “But we made just enough mistakes that allowed Sewickley Academy to capitalize on them. If we made less mistakes, we put ourselves in a position to win the game.”
Savannah Partridge netted a game-best 20 points for Union (0-6, 1-13). Taryn Wright contributed 14 points and nailed two 3-pointers. Wright became the first Lady Scots player, besides Partridge, to make a 3-pointer this season.
“She was looking to shoot,” Fadden said. “She played with a lot of confidence. That was the big difference.”
