Feb 02, 2010
The Lady Greyhounds bounced back from a slow start to defeat Jamestown in a District 10, nonregion matchup.
A second-quarter rally lifted Wilmington (10-6) to its third straight win, despite shooting 18 for 63 from the field.
“It was kind of a slow start,” Lady ’Hounds coach Brian Turk said. “In the second half, the girls really stepped it up.”
Wilmington missed nine of 11 free throws in the first half, but connected on five of six in the second.
“I think pretty much that won the game for us,” Turk said.
Stephanie Kish led the Lady ’Hounds win 18 points.
Julie Burns and Mackenzie Hiers helped Wilmington outrebound Jamestown, 51-18.
Burns collected 16 boards and Hiers had 13.
