Missed 3s lead to Ellwood collapse
Ambridge (66) Vs. Ellwood City (48)
Feb 02, 2010
The Lady Wolverines tested their outside shooting in a Section 2-AAA loss to Ambridge.

Ellwood City Lincoln (0-7, 7-10) was forced to fire 37 3-pointers because the Lady Bridgers (3-4, 8-7) collapsed defensively on Lady Wolverines’ post player Michelle Nocera.

Ellwood City made only six of those attempts, while Nocera was held to two field goals. Nocera finished with 16 points with 12 coming from the foul line.

“We just weren’t knocking them down,” Lady Wolverines coach Bill Gottuso said.

Michelle’s sister, Nicole, contributed 11 points and seven steals for Ellwood City, which lost its 102nd straight section game.
