Boardman (75) Vs. Neshannock (67)
Feb 02, 2010
The Lancers competed well against Boardman in a cross-state nonsection loss.

Boardman competes in Ohio’s Division I, which is equivalent to the PIAA’s Class AAAA. Neshannock is in Class A.

“I thought we played very hard,” Lancers coach John Corey said. “I’m very happy with how we played.”

Joey Fontana netted a game-high 25 points for Neshannock (13-6).

“Joey had a terrific game,” Corey said. “Boardman is physical and big. You have to be aggressive and Joey definitely was. He was attacking the rim and hitting open jumpers.”

Brandon Marinelli added 20 markers for the Lancers and Bobby Nittinger chipped in 12.

Sophomore point guard John Sansone dished out 10 assists and Eric Bruening grabbed nine rebounds.

“This should get us ready for the playoffs,” Corey said. “No team is as big and physical as Boardman in Class A.”
