The Spartans owned an eight-point lead with five minutes left but could not hang on, dropping a first-round contest in the Cambridge Springs Tournament.
Laurel, which had 17 turnovers in the game, was outscored 15-8 in the fourth quarter.
“Our inexperience shot us tonight,” Spartans coach Mike Tinstman said. “We made some poor decisions and bad shot selections at the end. We played hard but the play at the end cost us the ballgame.”
Jake Dando led all players with 15 points and seven rebounds for Laurel. Adam Gibson also had seven boards.
Adam Sinclair paced Cambridge Springs with 14 points.
The Spartans head to the consolation game at 6 p.m. today and will play Northwestern.
