The Lady Lancers built a 29-0 lead after one quarter and coasted past the visiting Lady Lions for a Section 2-AA win.

Neshannock (8-0, 17-0) pushed the lead to 47-4 at the break.

“We jumped out to that big lead and the JVs played at least half of the game or more,” Lady Lancers coach Luann Grybowski said. “We jumped out good in the first quarter and Erin (Warvell) found the open man.

“We kept high energy and came out that same way in the third quarter, too.”

Tayler Grybowski, the coach’s daughter, led all scorers with 20 points for the winners. She added 10 rebounds, five steals and four assists.

Madison McHale chipped in with 19 markers, five rebounds and three steals for the Lady Lancers. She netted 13 of her points in the opening period. Stephanie Paras provided 12 points and Warvell handed out a game-best seven assists.

Neshannock was 26 of 58 from the field.

Cara Haddox netted seven points for New Brighton (0-8, 1-13).
