Mohawk girls get defensive
Mohawk (51) Vs. Beaver Falls (26)
Jan 21, 2014
The Lady Warriors held the Lady Tigers scoreless in the third quarter of their Section 2-AA road win.

“They didn’t get a field goal in either the second or the third quarter,” Mohawk coach Mike O’Lare said. “They didn’t score in the third quarter. All their points in the second quarter came from the line.”

Mohawk (6-2, 12-2) held a slim 11-9 lead after the first quarter and increased it to 27-14 at the break. The Lady Warriors outscored their hosts 10-0 in the third quarter.

“I thought our effort and intensity really picked up,” O’Lare said. “We struggled to finish early and that led to some easy fastbreak points for them. Once our intensity picked up, we were able to get some easy baskets.”

Samantha Carr paced Mohawk with 16 points and Aliya Gage was next with 15.
