Jan 21, 2014
The visiting Lady Vikings outscored the Lady Wolverines 25-11 in the second half to pull away for a Section 2-AAA victory.
Hopewell (7-1, 13-2) posted a 56-23 decision in the first meeting.
“About a dozen spectators told me ‘your girls have improved since the last time you played Hopewell.’ As I have said time and time again, we are making progress and as long as we continue to improve and realize our true potential, the sky is the limit for this team,” said first-year Ellwood City Lincoln coach Dena Noble.
Katelyn Wardman recorded a team-high nine points for the Lady Wolverines (1-7, 5-11) and Karington Ketterer followed with seven. Allesandra McKelvey added a team-best eight rebounds.
Ellwood City committed 24 turnovers.
Hopewell’s Kari Steur led all scorers with 12 points.
