Wildcats rally past Mohawk
Mohawk (31) Vs. Shenango (40)
Jan 19, 2011
Shenango outscored Mohawk 29-16 in the second half to rally for a Section 2-AA victory.

The Wildcats (2-4, 7-6) took the lead for good at 28-26 about two minutes into the fourth quarter.

“We came out slow and Mohawk controlled the tempo,” Shenango coach Bob McQuiston said. “We wanted to push the ball up the floor and we weren’t able to do that in the first half.

“In the second half, especially the fourth quarter, we picked things up and I think the guys came together.”

Jeff Williams recorded a game-high 15 points for the Wildcats, including 7 of 8 at the foul line in the fourth quarter. Brett Chieze chipped in 11 markers.

Tim Glass tossed in 13 points to lead the Warriors (0-6, 3-11).

“My hat is off to Mohawk; they played hard and we knew they would be hard to beat on their floor,” McQuiston said. “Our guys really grinded it out.”
