Laurel High girls basketball player Ellen Shaffer continued her dominance at the Union Booster Tournament last night.

The junior forward scored a game-high 29 points, a night after putting together a 30-point performance, in the Lady Spartans’ 55-34 victory over Union in the championship game while earning Tournament MVP honors.

Shaffer also added 11 rebounds.

Kristin Dicks, an all-tournament selection, added 12 points for Laurel (5-6).

Laurel opened the game on a 19-7 run and relied on its defensive presence and offensive movement to keep the lead in tact.

The Lady Spartans finished with 19 total assists.

Union (1-9) was led by Skylar Thompson and Tyanna Harris, both representatives on the all-tournament team, with nine points each.
