New Castle couldn’t dig itself out of a hole in its Section 2-AAA meeting with visiting Central Valley.
The Lady ’Canes (0-4) were on the wrong side of a 10-5 first quarter and a 14-8 third quarter. They tried to make it up with a five-point advantage in the fourth, but it was not enough.
Kayla Harvey lead the Lady ’Canes with 10 points, six coming from the free throw line. Carmie Matarazzo followed with nine points, including one 3-pointer.
