Wilmington girls victorious
Wilmington (74) Vs. West Middlesex (59)
Jan 17, 2014
The Lady Greyhounds used a 22-5 advantage in the third quarter to pick up the District 10, Region 2-AA win.

“It was a struggle,” Wilmington coach Brandy Sanford said. “The score doesn’t indicate it, though. The last two games, we’ve been really out of sync. I don’t know what it was. We worked on fundamentals this week. It almost seemed like it took us a half to get warmed up.”

Wilmington (4-1, 10-3) led 33-29 at halftime.

“We were very sluggish and lazy in the first half,” Sanford said. “We caused quite a few turnovers, but we committed quite a few fouls, too. We were slow on our feet and were content to reach as they drove by us.”

Tessa Sikora led all scorers with 20 points and 18 rebounds. Cassidy Marett and Hannah Drake also reached double figures with 14 and 13.
