Ellwood hangs tough in loss
Ellwood City (40) Vs. Blackhawk (58)
Jan 17, 2014
The visiting Lady Wolverines fell behind 34-20 after two quarters and were unable to recover in the Section 2-AAA loss.

Blackhawk (6-1, 13-1) beat Ellwood City (1-6, 5-10) 68-14 on Dec. 12 in the teams’ first meeting.

“This is probably the first time I’ve ever been happy after a loss,” Ellwood City coach Dena Noble said. “I’m so proud of our team. We lost by 54 points to them in December and cut that to 14 tonight. The girls worked hard daily in practice since then, we were not going to let that happen again.”

Karington Ketterer led the Lady Wolverines with 15 points, while Bailey McKinney had 13. Allesandra McKelvey pulled down nine rebounds.
