Beaver blows out Ellwood
Beaver (90) Vs. Ellwood City (61)
Feb 06, 2013
The Ellwood City Lincoln defense surrendered 29 first-quarter points in a loss to Beaver.
“Beaver is a very good team with four or five seniors,” first-year Ellwood City coach Anthony Ovial said. “They shot the ball very well out of the gate. They threw a hard punch off the bat and staggered us a bit.”
One of those seniors, Aaron Barlow, finished with 27 points, including 12 in the second quarter.
“With Barlow, he’s about 6-foot-6, and what he does is stay active on the glass and create second chance opportunities,” Ovial said. “He gets you in foul trouble, he tips balls and gets second opportunities for his teammates.”
The Wolverines (0-11, 3-18) were led by Nick Aloi, who notched 25 points.
Beaver (9-2, 16-3) regained its half-game lead in section with the victory.
