New Brighton tops Shenango
New Brighton (62) Vs. Shenango (51)
Feb 06, 2013
New Brighton’s inside game proved too much for host Shenango in a Section 2-AA loss.

Chris Pipkin was a force inside for the Lions, registering 25 rebounds to go with 21 points.

“I thought he did a good job posting up. We tried to play behind him but we weren’t getting there quick enough,” Wildcats coach Bob McQuiston said. “He did a nice job on the boards. He’s a strong kid. We didn’t have an answer for him.”

Shenango (3-9, 7-12) shot just 16 of 49 from the field in the contest.

“We couldn’t find the rim,” McQuiston said. “We missed a few layups and wide open jump shots. We just weren’t putting the ball in the hoop.”

Brenton Booher had a team-high 14 points for the Wildcats.
