Ellwood City Lincoln started slow and never recovered in a Section 2-AAA loss to Blackhawk.

The Lady Wolverines (1-7, 7-10) fell behind 18-1 in the first four minutes and 26-2 after one quarter. The Lady Cougars (6-2, 10-5) shot 68 percent in the first half.

“As well as they played, we played pretty bad,” Ellwood City coach Bill Gottuso said. “We got beat in every phase of the game; we just didn’t get off the bus.”

The Lady Wolverines recorded just 11 total rebounds and turned the ball over 29 times.

Asia Borders netted 10 points to lead Ellwood City, while Jenna Ricciuti was next with seven. Michelle Nocera, who needed 19 points to reach 1,000 for her career, was limited to three.

Alexis Graham led all scorers with 19 points for Blackhawk.
