Riverside turns back Shenango
Shenango (38) Vs. Riverside (51)

Shenango coach Bob McQuiston felt responsible for the Wildcats’ 51-38 Section 2-AA loss to Riverside.
The Panthers quickly erased a five-point, fourth-quarter deficit and took over, outscoring Shenango 23-5 in the fourth to earn the victory.
“They made a couple of shots and we lost our composure, especially myself,” McQuiston said. “In crunch time, when the game’s on the line, the team feeds off me, and I lost my composure a little bit. I had a lot to do with the loss tonight.”
Jake Thellman scored a game-high 21 points for Riverside (2-1, 7-5), including nine in the final stanza. Mike Linz paced the Wildcats (1-3, 5-5) with 14 points.
While the loss was tough for McQuiston to endure, he said Shenango must move on and channel its focus to a Tuesday meeting with section-foe Neshannock.
“I always tell the guys we have to learn from our mistakes, and I’m not an exception to the rule,” he said. “We have another battle coming up, and we’ve got to be ready.”
