Beaver outlasts Neshannock
Neshannock (57) Vs. Beaver (67)
Jan 08, 2011
Neshannock’s struggles at the foul line proved costly in a physical 67-57 nonsection loss to Beaver.

The Lancers drained just 15 of their 35 free-throw attempts.

“I’m extremely proud of our guys for the amount of fight that they displayed,” Neshannock coach John Corey said. “We shot absolutely horrendous from the foul line and that’s our own fault.

“Our guys need to understand we have to be more focused there. As disappointing as we were from the line tonight, we showed we weren’t going to back down from anybody.”

Nick Graziani paced the Lancers (7-3) with 20 points and 12 rebounds, while John Sansone added 13 markers and eight boards.

Nick Conjeski netted 16 points for the Bobcats (4-5).

Corey immediately set his sights on Neshannock’s next game, a 7:30 p.m. showdown Tuesday at Section 2-AA rival Shenango. The Lancers are 2-1 in the loop.

“That’s the biggest game of the year for us,” Corey said.
