Turnovers and poor free-throw shooting cost Shenango in its Section 2-AA loss to New Brighton.

The Lady Wildcats (0-2, 1-4) committed 29 turnovers and went 23 of 38 from the line.

“We couldn’t get any field goals to fall,” Shenango coach Brian Turk said. “We had plenty of opportunities to stay in the game from the foul line and we didn’t make those either. We’re glad we’re getting those opportunities, but we have to shoot the ball better.”

Lauren Pruchnic led the Lady Wildcats with 12 points, while Amanda Herb recorded 10 points and eight rebounds. The Lady Lions’ Kaitlyn Hopkins scored a game-high 20 points.
