Dec 21, 2010
Speed was the difference in Aliquippa’s Section 1-A victory over Union.
The Lady Quips used raced to a 40-13 halftime advantage, putting the Lady Scots (1-5) in an insurmountable hole.
“They were just a lot faster than us, basically,” Union coach Brian Fadden said. “They got a lot of rebounds and we turned the ball over a little bit. That’s when they got rolling.”
Miranda Heaney led the Lady Scots with 13 points. She was the only player in double figures. Union’s leading scorer, Savannah Partridge, was held to a season-low five points.
“They really pressured her and she struggled with it tonight,” Fadden said.
Danyia Perry led Aliquippa (5-0) with 17 points. Nakira Emerson was next with 16.
