Neshannock’s Eric Bruening continues to get rebounds for the boys basketball team.

His effort paving the way to a strong start for the Lancers.

Bruening collected 13 points and 17 rebounds to lead Neshannock to a 64-36 nonsection win over Moniteau last night.

Bruening has grabbed 16 or more boards in three consecutive games.

“He’s kind of like a little Dennis Rodman,” Lancers coach John Corey said. “He has a passion for rebounding the basketball.”

The rest of Neshannock’s roster followed suit, as the defense limited Moniteau to only 13 field goals.

“It was a very good defensive effort,” Corey said. “Offensively, we were very balanced.”

Bobby Nittinger tallied 15 points for Neshannock (3-1), followed by Brandon Marinelli with nine and Joey Fontana with eight.

John Sansone dished out four assists and collected six steals to go along with six points the Lancers.
