The Wilmington Greyhounds jumped all over Commodore Perry in the first quarter on its way to a nonregion win.

Wilmington (2-1) outscored its opponent 25-3 in the first frame, but allowed Commodore Perry (0-3) back in the game by losing the second quarter, 13-8.

“We came out in the first quarter with a lot of intensity,” ’Hounds coach Will Harris said. “We lost that intensity in the second quarter. It really didn’t affect the outcome, but when we go up against a good team we have to keep up that intensity.”

Brandon Burk led Wilmington with 15 points and Jake DeMedal added 12 markers, eight assists and seven steals.
