The Lady 'Canes were outscored 29-7 over the second and third quarters en route to a 62-30 Section 2-AAA road loss to the Lady Bridgers.
"I think it was more of us not taking care of the ball," said first-year New Castle coach Maria Joseph. "We had a lot of good looks offensively, but our shots weren't falling for us.
"My biggest concern was our transition defense. We'll take every opportunity to learn from our mistakes and work hard to get better."
Jaidyn Eggleston led the Lady 'Canes (2-3, 3-7) with nine points.
Chloe Rabold registered a game-high 23 points for Ambridge (5-0, 9-2).
