Shenango gets ‘bounce back’ win
Shenango (44) Vs. Freedom (36)
Jan 23, 2015
The Lady Wildcats bounced back from a poor effort to take a nonsection win over visiting Freedom.

The eight-point victory was a welcome sight for Shenango coach Brian Turk following Shenango’s 34-30 nonsection loss against Ellwood City.

“It was huge to bounce back to get a win against what will be a playoff team,” Turk said. “It was a good statement, Freedom is a team that’s a playoff contender so we wanted to make sure we came out with a victory.”

Samantha Seaburn led the charge for Shenango (9-7) with 15 points and 15 rebounds. Angelina Sibeto followed with 10 points, 10 boards and six assists and Jacqui Baker had 10 points.

Turk also credited Ashleigh Presnar for her defensive work against Madi Daubenspeck, who scored nine points for the Lady Bulldogs (9-8).

“I thought we did a great job on Daubenspeck, she’s one of their top scorers,” Turk said. “Presnar did a good job until she got in foul trouble. She held her to four points, which was huge defensively.”
