Shenango boys fall
Sharon (67) Vs. Shenango (58)
Dec 29, 2014
Sharon outscored Shenango 15-9 in the second quarter to take the lead en route to a win in the championship of the Wildcat Tournament.

“I was pretty pleased with our effort,” Wildcats coach Bob McQuiston said. “I was pleased with our rebounding. We did a good job of boxing out and holding that box out.

“I was disappointed in our turnovers. When you’re playing a good team like Sharon, they will capitalize on it. We knew coming in we had to take care of the basketball. They want to press you and score in transition. I was really pleased with the effort; our patience on offense was good.”

The Tigers (3-4) are coached by New Castle High graduate and former Lady ’Canes coach Jason Rankin.

Ryan Smith led Shenango with 17 points and James Micco chipped in with 16. Christian O’Hara added 14.

Smith earned all-tournament status.

Jason Austin paced Sharon (3-4) with 26 points.
