Lakeview edges Wilmington
Wilmington (46) Vs. Lakeview (47)
Dec 20, 2014
Wilmington High let a nine-point lead slip away in the 47-46 District 10, Region 2-AA loss at Lakeview.

“We did not take care of the ball on the offensive end and did not make enough stops on the defensive end,” Wilmington coach Mike Jeckavitch said. “We just did not play well enough to win.”

The Greyhounds had a chance to win in the final seconds, but a 3-point attempt by Jared Berlin rimmed off to the right just before the buzzer sounded.

Despite Wilmington’s struggles, Spencer DeMedal enjoyed one of the best games of his career with 26 points, six rebounds and seven assists.

“Spencer did it all tonight, he shot 3s, he got to the rim, he made 8 of 11 from the foul line — he carried us. Others need to step up, though, he can’t do it all.”

Marc Peoples added six rebounds for the Greyhounds.

Lakeview is 1-2 in region play, 3-3 overall. Wimington is 1-1 and 1-3 overall.
