Ellwood City falls to Central Valley
Ellwood City (42) Vs. Central Valley (69)
Feb 01, 2014
Ellwood City fell behind 27-13 after the first quarter and never recovered in a 69-42 Section 2-AAA loss to Central Valley last night.

Ellwood City (1-9, 4-15) was outscored 17-10 and faced a 44-23 deficit entering the second half.

“Central Valley is a really good team and we had to compete all night,” Wolverines coach Anthony Ovial said. “They play tremendously hard on defense and they play together on offense. They got out on transition and did a really nice job of getting up the floor. We just didn’t adjust to their speed.

“They can play inside and they can play outside. They’re very balanced. They’re as good of a team as we’re going to play. I expect them to make a run in the playoffs.”

Tanner Walsh led Ellwood City with 10 points.
