Wilmington too much for VisionQuest

Freshman Spencer DeMedal poured in 19 points to lead Wilmington to an 86-70 victory over VisionQuest last night.

DeMedal’s totals included a trio of 3-point field goals. The Greyhounds’ balanced attack also included Jordan Smith with 14 points, Rocco Fagan with 11 and Jesse Hilliard with 10.

The game was tied 14-14 after one period, before Wilmington gave itself some breathing room by outscoring the visitors 27-12.

“We didn’t have a great first quarter, but in the second quarter, we got after it defensively and had quite a few transition buckets,” Wilmington coach Mike Jeckavitch said. “I was pleased with our balanced scoring.”

The Greyhounds improved to 9-4, while VisionQuest slipped to 4-9.
