Shenango (59) Vs. New Brighton (20)
Dec 13, 2013
The Lady Wildcats won their first section game in nearly four years, snapping a 44-game slide with the Section 2-AA home win.

The losing streak started after Shenango edged New Brighton 32-31 on Jan. 10, 2010.

“It was a big win for the school,” Lady Wildcats coach Brian Turk said. “I was out of town for work and had to miss the game. I’m excited for the girls and excited for the school. I’m pretty disappointed that I didn’t get to see it. I’m glad they didn’t miss a beat while I was gone. Hopefully, I get to see many more.”

Shenango (1-0, 3-1) limited New Brighton (0-1, 0-4) to just nine field goals and 29 percent shooting on the night.

Conversely, the Lady ’Cats knocked down 54 percent of their field goal attempts.

Angelina Sibeto posted a game- and season-high 17 points, while Samantha Seaburn added 15.
