New Brighton’s Faith Tates hit a shot at the buzzer to force overtime before the Lady Lions outscored Mohawk 10-7 in the extra period to secure a Section 2-AA win.
“I’m just disappointed with our defensive effort,” Lady Warriors coach Mike O’Lare said. “We have to play better defensively and not turn the ball over so much.”
Teresa Westover paced Mohawk (2-3, 4-9) with 12 points. Tory Laughner followed with 11 markers.
Chelsea Barnes led all scores with 26 points and Tates followed with 14 for New Brighton (1-4, 4-8).
