Jan 12, 2013
Laurel couldn’t get any shots to fall in dropping a 47-24 Section 2-AA contest at home to Riverside.
Laurel was 9 of 47 from the field and grabbed just 10 total rebounds.
“We just didn’t make any shots,” first-year Spartans coach Ken Locke said. “We couldn’t get anything to go early.
“It’s very disappointing. We felt we were getting better.”
Laurel (0-6, 4-10) trailed just 16-5 at the break and 28-15 after three periods.
“To hold Riverside to 16 first-half points was pretty good,” Locke said. “Overall, I thought we did a good job defensively.”
Jacob Wilson and Scott Siddall tossed in six points apiece to lead Laurel.
Gig Jewell recorded a game-high 21 points for the Panthers (2-4, 6-7).
