The Beaver Bobcats shot down Ellwood City Lincoln from the perimeter in a 67-33 Section 2-AAA road victory.
Beaver (5-0, 12-0) made 11 3-pointers compared to none for the Wolverines. The Bobcats are ranked No. 2 in the WPIAL in Class AAA by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Beaver is coached by former Westminster College standout Andy Podbielski.
“Perimeter shooting is the big stat,” first-year Ellwood coach Anthony Ovial said. “That really sticks out; they shot it really well.
“I thought we did a really good job of taking things away from them. They proved their ranking.”
Matt Morabito paced the Wolverines (0-6, 2-11) with eight points. Nick Aloi, averaging a team-high 16.7 points a game coming in, was limited to six markers.
Austin Logan registered a game-best 15 points for Beaver, 10 coming in the second quarter.
