Ambridge edges New Castle
Ambridge (51) Vs. New Castle (47)
Dec 21, 2012
The bounces didn’t go New Castle’s way in a loss at Ambridge.
“We had one of those games where everything went their way,” Lady ’Canes coach Scott Dibble said. “It’s one of those things where those shots were bouncing in for them that weren’t for us.”
Rachael Razzano scored 15 points to lead New Castle in the Section 2-AAA clash. Dana Perrotta bucketed 13 and Kelsey Scott was next with 12.
“We really have a tough section,” Dibble said. “Ambridge was one of those teams I was hoping we could steal a game in their place.
“It was a pretty evenly matched game. I thought we were flat most of it. We showed moments of good effort, but it wasn’t enough.”
Dibble emphasized free-throw shooting in practice this week. The Lady ’Canes (1-2, 3-3) shot 11 of 13 from the line in the game.
“That was good to see,” Dibble said. “The rebounding was our demise tonight. All the intangibles went in their direction.”
