Riverside rolls past Neshannock

Riverside worked Neshannock over on the glass in a Section 2-AA victory.

The Lady Panthers (9-1, 16-2) outrebounded the Lady Lancers (6-3, 13-5), 40-24.

Riverside is ranked No. 4 in the WPIAL in Class AA by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

“Keeping the team in the 40s and boxing out is what we’ve been preaching all year long and we did neither,” Neshannock coach Luann Grybowski said. “We just didn’t check anybody out; it’s all about keeping their girls off the glass and we didn’t do that.”

Chelsea Kauffman netted a team-best 22 points for Neshannock, which was just 15 of 53 from the field. Ashlee Patton and Caitlin Binder added six each markers for the Lady Lancers.

Alex Deep registered a game-best 26 markers for the Lady Panthers and Sam Weir chipped in with 20. The tandem combined for 25 of Riverside’s 28 first-half points according to Grybowski.
