Union can’t make up early deficit
Riverside (44) Vs. Union (33)
Dec 20, 2010
Union fell behind 13-2 after the first quarter and couldn’t recover in a nonsection loss to Riverside.
“We’re getting better and we’re a work in progress right now,” Scotties coach Dave Smialowski said. “We don’t have a lot of experience and firepower to come back from a deficit like that. We have to start off better.”
The Scotties (0-4) kept battling in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Class AA Panthers (4-1) 16-7 in the final frame.
“That’s the one thing I’m most proud of about my guys. They keep battling and they don’t quit,” Smialowski said.
Markel Peace paced Union with eight points.
The Scotties compete in Class A.
Jake Thellman led all scorers with 16 markers for Riverside.
