Wilmington girls beat Lakeview
Wilmington (56) Vs. Lakeview (31)
Feb 05, 2010
Wilmington outscored Lakeview 30-5 over the final 13 minutes to claim the District 10, Region 2-AA win.

The Lady Greyhounds (5-3, 11-6) remain tied for third place in the region with Mercer (5-3, 9-7). District 10 takes the top two teams to the postseason and some regions will qualify a third squad.

“All the wins are big this time of year,” Lady Greyhounds coach Brian Turk said. “We need to pretty much win out. This win gets us one step closer to our goal.

“The girls deserve a lot of credit; they really stepped it up and got going in the third quarter.”

Haley Marett paced a balanced Wilmington attack with 14 points, while Ashley Gardner added 13 and Stephanie Kish contributed 10. Julie Burns pulled down a game-best 19 rebounds to go along with her five markers.
