Ellwood offense too much for Freedom
Ellwood City (80) Vs. Freedom (62)
Jan 22, 2010
The Ellwood City Wolverines’ offense exploded in an 80-62 nonsection win over Freedom.

Cody Mittica drained a game-high 27 points, 17 rebounds and blocked seven shots to lead Ellwood City Lincoln (4-10).

“Mittica had a monster game,” Wolverines coach Jason Bumblis said. “He was just out of control. It was great.”

Ellwood City, which snapped a three-game losing streak, led by as many as 24 points in the fourth quarter over Freedom (1-12).

Gino Ceriani scored 16 points for the Wolverines, while Ryan Horgan added 13.

Bumblis said it was nice to see his team bounce back from a tough four-point loss to New Castle on Tuesday.

“We didn’t put our heads down,” he said. “I was proud because we usually play to the level of our competition. Tonight, we did what we should’ve done. It’s a good step forward for our boys.”
