Shenango raced to a 16-1 lead and never looked back in posting an easy win.

The Lady Wildcats were coming off a tough Section 2-AA loss to Neshannock on Thursday in a game they led by 10.

“We got back on the right track after our setback to Neshannock,” Shenango coach Joe Gierlach said. The kids responded with great intensity and I’m proud of them for the way they came out and played hard on defense.

“I’m hoping we can get back to where we were before the Neshannock game and stay on the winning trail.”

Brittany Mendel netted 15 points to lead the Lady Wildcats (4-1), while Emily Makarevich added 10.

Megan Devrices paced Portersville Christian with five points.

Shenango led 33-3 at halftime and 42-9 after three quarters. However, the Lady ’Cats were blanked in the final period.
