Ellwood breaks losing streak

Travis Woodbridge put in a layup with about a minute left and the Ellwood City caused a pair of turnovers to hold on for its first Section 2-AAA victory in two years.

Both teams were even until the fourth quarter, each scoring 10 in the first, eight in the second and 14 in the third.

Chris Weisz led the Wolverines (1-8, 5-14) with 12 points. He had three 3s.

Ryan Herald scored a game-high 22 points for the Bobcats (2-8, 6-12). Will Hazelett followed with 15.

Ellwood City Lincoln’s last section win came Jan. 19, 2007 over Beaver.
