Hannah Haswell played hero for the visiting Lady Lancers in Neshannock's 43-41 overtime victory over Section 1-AA foe Beaver Falls.
The sophomore's offensive rebound and putback layup with three seconds left in overtime helped Neshannock (6-1, 11-2) keep pace with Riverside for the section lead.
Ally Zarilla, who scored a team-high 13 points and grabbed six boards for Neshannock, hit one of her two 3-pointers with 23 seconds remaining in regulation to push the game to the extra period. That trey completely erased a deficit that was up to 11 points in the third quarter.
"They just never gave up," Neshannock coach Luann Grybowski said. "It was nice to get a win there, I'm proud of the kids. They really played through adversity and just fought back. It says a lot about a young group of kids."
The Lady Lancers continue to find different sources of offense, with Zarilla taking the charge on this particular night.
Carmie Matarazzo added nine points, eight rebounds and three steals while Aidan Noga posted six points and three steals.
"That's the beauty of it, we're not relying on one person," Grybowski said. "Aidan hit a big shot in overtime when they went ahead. Everybody really had a hand in it."
