Sewickley Academy 39, Union 32
Union (32) Vs. Sewickley (39)
Jan 18, 2008
The Lady Scots had the lead for a few seconds in the fourth quarter but couldn’t hold on in Section 1-A action.
“It’s just getting old,” Union coach Gary Trimble said. “We can’t make the big shots when we need them and we can’t finish.”
Kristen Koszela hit a jumper midway through the final period to put the Lady Scots (2-6, 4-12) up 32-31. Union, though, was held scoreless the rest of the way.
“We had the lead but we couldn’t do anything after that,” Trimble said. “We have to make our shots on the road.”
Ashley Sankey led the Lady Scots with seven points. She also had eight rebounds.
Koszela paced the rebounding effort with 11 boards to go with her four points. Kaylin Clingensmith had four steals and five points.
Caroline King scored a game-high 16 points for the Lady Panthers (4-4, 5-8).
