Neshannock (69) Vs. Freedom (64)
Jan 18, 2008
Mike Conglose poured in 24 points to lead the Lancers to a 69-64 non-league win on the road.
Neshannock (6-10) played a near-perfect game, committing only four turnovers while making 22 of 26 free throws.
“Turnovers and free-throw shooting have both been bugaboos for us so it was good to see those come together,” Lancers coach Jim Smiley said. “We have been struggling, but the kids have persevered. It was good to get this one in the hopper.”
Conglose was 11 of 12 from the free throw line, including 8 of 8 in the fourth quarter, when Freedom tried to make a comeback.
“We were up 11 in the fourth quarter and they made some 3s to get back in the game,” Smiley said. “But when they fouled us, we were able to make our free throws.”
Michael Richards added 16 points for Neshannock. Conglose and Stephen Perrott chipped in with seven rebounds each and Bryce Kauffman chipped in with five assists.
