Central Valley routs Ellwood
Central Valley (66) Vs. Ellwood City (32)
Jan 09, 2013
Offensive struggles continued for Ellwood City Lincoln in a section loss at Central Valley.
“The big difference in the game was we made the same amount of threes and free throws, but not enough field goals,” Wolverines coach Anthony Ovial said. “We’ve got to go back to the drawing board and keep grinding out our offense.”
Ellwood City (0-5, 2-10) has now dropped its last eight decisions, including its five Section 2-AAA games.
“We’re hanging in there defensively,” Ovial said. “It always hurts when you can’t score with the basketball. We struggled in getting good shots. I think it wears on your defense at times. We’re playing good teams, and they know how to run their offense and score. You have to be able to score with them indefinitely.”
Nick Aloi finished with 12 points for the Wolverines. Mario Greco followed with eight.
“I can’t say enough good things about Greco,” Ovial said. “He plays so tremendously hard all the time. He gives us everything he has. Aloi has been steady. Those two guys have been getting us a lot of our offense. We have to continue to find ways to get easier shots.”
