Marisa Wallas netted 12 points with five steals in an easy home win over Portersville Christian. The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Lady Spartans.
Laurel built a 30-13 halftime advantage and cruised.
Aislinn Deinert was next for the Lady Spartans (5-5) with 10 points and 10 rebounds, her first double-double of the year.
Laurel finished with 18 assists as a team.
“I really liked the distribution,” Laurel coach Jessica Shevitz said. “I really liked the team effort, too; we needed this.
“Aislinn played well. She went out and executed. She’s a coachable player and she played a great game.”
Ellen Shaffer also pulled down 10 rebounds for the Lady Spartans. Dalainey Meals handed out a team-best five assists.
Mary McDonald recorded a game-high 18 points for Portersville Christian.
“McDonald is a phenomenal player,” Shevitz said. “It wasn’t an easy task stopping her.
“It’s definitely a task keeping her off the boards and we did that.”
