Freedom girls edge Union
Freedom (44) Vs. Union (40)
Dec 16, 2010
Union just couldn’t get over the hump against Freedom.

The Lady Scots trailed by two late in this nonsection matchup and had several 3-pointer attempts roll off the rim.

“We had about five looks at a 3, when we were down by two, and none of them fell,” Union coach Brian Fadden said.

Savannah Partridge had another big night for Union (0-3), leading all scorers with 26. Fadden said the problem wasn’t scoring, it was rebounding.

“We gave up too many layups and second-chance points,” Fadden said. “Really, they had third, fourth, fifth and sixth-chance points. They got a lot of extra rebounds, and it hurt us in the end. We struggled to come up with a lot of loose balls.”

Kristi Tibolet led Freedom with 13 points. Madi Lewis provided 11, and Caitlin Frain contributed 10.
