Second-quarter struggles doom Ellwood City

Ellwood City Lincoln struggled in the second quarter in a 66-51 loss to crosstown rival Riverside in the LGKG Classic on the Lady Panthers’ home floor.

The Lady Wolverines (3-5) was outscored 21-8 in the second stanza and trailed 33-17 at the break.

Karington Ketterer collected a team-high 16 points with six rebounds, four steals, three assists and three blocks for the Lady Wolverines. Cortni Prine provided 11 points and four rebounds for Ellwood City.

Allie McKelvey was next for the Lady Wolverines with nine markers, nine boards and three steals.

Katie Stang paced four Riverside players in double figures with 17 points.

The Lady Panthers will square off against Carrick today, while Ellwood City will clash with West Allegheny.
