Ellwood City was able to stay within striking distance in the first half, but had problems scoring in the second half of a 72-43 Section 2-AAA road loss to Blackhawk last night.

Ellwood City (0-7, 1-12) trailed 34-24 entering the third quarter, but Blackhawk (6-1, 8-7) rolled to a 38-19 advantage over the final 16 minutes for the win.

Tanner Walsh led Ellwood with 12 points, while Nick Ioanilli added 11. Frederick Roth chipped in 10.
